BIG WHEELS KEEP ON TURNING

PROUD MARY KEEPS On BURNING and Tina Turner keeps on keeping on.  Keeping the flame in the furious heart.  When I was a girl I had a rag doll  . . . Tina Turner could have burnt to an ember.  And out.  So easily the fire can fade.  The rain falls outside, the rain falls within.  The only doll I ever owned . . . Ike Turner treated Tina like he owned her, beat the crap out of her.  But the fire still burned.  Proud Mary.  Proud Tina. We never ever do nothing nice and easy. We always do it nice and rough.  It got rough, and rougher. And Tina Turner got out.
 
SOME GOT IT Some never get it.  What I get out of Tina Turner is this fountain of flames.  The flames fly from her wondrous legs, the flames spit out with every word she sings. They are not the flames of fires that burn things to a crisp.  Hers are the flames of survival, the flame that takes this ore of life, the flame that burns away all hurt, all pain, until the gold beyond mere survival shines. Who has more soul than this soul survivor shining true?
