SOME LOOK FOR PARADISE above in a hereafter, others find it here on earth. Paradise can wait a moment, while I point out some new earthly delights. First there is Neil who inspires me to mash Michelangelo above with Picasso below. Picasso of the fractured faces is timeless to me. Maybe paradise is as well. . The best always steal from their betters. And Neil is better than me.
IF PARADISE IS OF THIS EARTH may it be in the laugh of jarring juxtapositions. Imagination is the gift of great intelligence that sees beyond the real, beyond the cruelty and stupidity of the day.
OR PERHAPS PARADISE is two women running on Picasso's beach below Michelangelo's God in Paradise above. I find it where I can in these pages and out. Where do you find a hint of paradise today? Have a drink and leave a link. The Heretik has a secret ha, a hidden ho, ho, just knowing you are around.
Breaking: President Bush To Resign

Wow, thanks Heretik!
I was going to write a long post on withdrawing from Iraq, on Biden and the Bush's, on Allawi saying Iraq is worse than under Saddam and such...then discovered you've done better in two posts than I could hope to. Look for the links in the morning.
For tonights offering, I bring you the UK's rightwing Daily Telegraph and This story:
A "trophy" video appearing to show security guards in Baghdad randomly shooting Iraqi civilians has sparked two investigations after it was posted on the internet, the Sunday Telegraph can reveal.
...The video, which first appeared on a website that has been linked unofficially to Aegis Defence Services, contained four separate clips, in which security guards open fire with automatic rifles at civilian cars. All of the shooting incidents apparently took place on "route Irish", a road that links the airport to Baghdad.
Contrast this with claims reported in the WaPo at the start of the month that Route Irish was now the safest road in Iraq. I said at the time that was crap. Now there's confirmation - it certainly isn't the safest for innocent Iraqis, it seems.

Where's the Flying Spaghetti Monster?

Paradise for me these days is having the knowledge that some things you just can't control. Much like the 'insurgency' in Iraq, it's a self sustaining relationship - A symbiotic relationship.
I've been reflecting on my winter travels in Alaska and Canada and the feelings of paradise that the Northern Lights spark up in you every time you see them.

I found you via the trackback to my blog, and I've been squatting here ever since. Thanks for the link, and mostly, thanks for all the inspirational, funny, and artistic sites you've referred us to beyond your own delightful posts. Heretic, schmeretic. You've obviously been touched by FSM ( or some similarly noodly appendage of one of his demi-gods).
