DON’T YOU HATE when that happens? And you get caught saying stuff like . . . don’t you hate when that happens? In the I’m in bed with Tim Russert but I’m married to Greenspan comedy of the week, Andrea Mitchell of NBC is blaming “out of context” for her credibility problems in the PlameOut investigation. Mitchell is like a politician denying what is in plain sight.
MITCHELL IS TRYING to separate herself as much as possible from the following conversation she had on CNBC’s Capitol Report [WSJ]
Murray: Do we have any idea how widely known it was in Washington that Joe Wilson's wife worked for the CIA?
Mitchell: It was widely known among those of us who cover the intelligence community and who were actively engaged in trying to track down who among the foreign service community was the envoy to Niger. So a number of us began to pick up on that. But frankly I wasn't aware of her actual role at the CIA and the fact that she had a covert role involving weapons of mass destruction, not until Bob Novak wrote it.WHETHER VALERIE PLAME’S STATUS as covert at the CIA was common knowledge or not will be a key point in the trial of Scooter Libby. What Andrea Mitchell knew about Plame and when is a story NBC would like to see buried. Tim Russert would too. What is most intriguing here for now is seeing Mitchell getting caught.[story]
IMUS: Apparently on October 3, 2003, you said it was "widely known" that Joe Wilson's wife worked at the CIA.
MITCHELL: Well, that was out of context.
IMUS: Oh, it was?
MITCHELL: It was out of context.
IMUS: Isn't that always the case?
MITCHELL: Don't you hate it when that happens?MITCHELL SHOULD PLEAD “no context.” Nothing is more pathetic than a woman who plays “Gotcha!” getting caught in her own game. Tom Maguire at Just One Minute has the whole story.
I love this picture of Mitchell. She looks like she's straight out of Thunderbirds Are Go and bears a striking resemblance to the leading lady/puppet from Team America -- World Police.

I saw this propaganda purveyor on Bill Marr's Real-Time, she couldn't help herself even on his show, Mitchell just had to help disseminate misinformation disguised as journalistic impartiality. Andrea is the most dangerous kind of journalist, in truth she has no right to call herself a journalist at all. She's the perfect antithesis of what a journalist should be.
Andrew Mitchell... the anti-journalist, followed swiftly by the four Horsemen of the journalistic Apocalypse Britt Hume, Bill O'Reilly, Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch.
That would make a good picture, don't you think?
