I cited him before, and I'll cite him again: "Who ya gonna' believe ... me, or your own two eyes?" Groucho Marx

Call Kafka is right. This whole sorry mess begins with "The Castle," conveniently skips "The Trial," and morphs into (or, rather, is indefinitely detained by) "In the Penal Colony."

The silence is almost defeaning, and Condi is supposed to head for the Old World next week to mollify them. That should be good for a few yucks.

Yup, Kafka's the man for this one, and it's even more disturbing when you consider that 1) US citizens can be held without habeas corpus as "enemy combatants," and 2) the Pentagon's been working on surveillance of citizens within the borders of the US. Thank god the international news media is all over this story, since otherwise the Washington media might get tired of it and the pressure on the WH might eventually dissipate.

Has the Marquis de Rumsfeld clarified the situation yet? How about Oy' Reilly?

There are a few facts our friends on the right need to accept:

The United States DOES torture

Bush has NO PLAN for getting out of Iraq

Bush NEVER wants to leave Iraq

According to an AP Story on Monday,

BERLIN -- The United States has told the European Union it needs more time to respond to media reports that the CIA set up secret jails in some European nations and transported terror suspects by covert flights, the top EU justice official said Monday.

This story broke on 11/04 -- how much time do these bozos *need?*
