THE MONSTER FINALLY SPEAKS Saddam Hussein appeared in court today to face charges [story] What he will testify to should intrigue. He wouldn't even give his name.
Defiantly and noisily, former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein appeared for the start of his mass murder trial Wednesday morning, refusing to identify himself except as "president of the Iraqi state" and ultimately pleading not guilty to the charges against him.
HUSSEIN GOT INTO SHOVING MATCH with guards during a break, perhaps a foreshadowing of what he might give out to his current enemies and former friends in the Bush Administration.
