GEORGE BUSH CANNOT DEFEAT HIS LATEST OPPONENT He can only hope to come to a draw with an icon that has been drawn, painted, and written about since the beginning of time. In an asymmetrical battle of the sexes, father and warmaking Bush will lose to grieving and nurturing mother CINDY SHEEHAN for sympathy every time.
MORAL AUTHORITY RESIDES IN MOTHERS And the sons of bitches who would challenge that do so at their own peril. Cindy Sheehan taps into a moral reservoir Bush's political hopes may drown in. FRAMESHOP has more on this. NEWSWEEK continues to pay for its sins with a BUSH IN PAIN piece out today.

A latent irony in this situation (I wish I could remember where I read it), one that mandt hints at, is that W takes after his mother much more than his father.
