Man, I'm already into my second Pale Ale and the sun is hangin' low. But where is everybody when I'm finally ready for the Lefty's crew to help get me over the hump day? I remembered today why I gave up being an activist for a while there--it's damn hard work.

Yo, Lord of Losaida, I hear you. But what else can you do? Even when you feel ground down, something is left. A core that cannot be worn away. Rembember the jewel within, even if nobody sees it. Oy.

Another mimosa for me...
But watch out in Great Britain, no more sexy guys in the booze ads. They will now require men to be "unattractive — overweight, middle-aged, balding, etc." so as not to entice women to binge drink.

Who knew FP was such a lush?
Good news, not only is CNN addressing Latoyia Figueroa's disappearance but so is MSNBC (starting with Tucker Carlson tonight and then probably on Abrams Report tomorrow) and I think the reward fund is over $7000 (not bad for only 24 hours).

Oh, and to continue the theme (they blew a 0.17)...
Hoosier gals arrested for drunk driving an inoperable car. Two women who took turns steering a broken-down vehicle face drunken driving charges after their slow-moving car crashed into a parked car.
Kaylyn Kezy, 34, of Gary, was pushing the disabled car, while Melissa Fredenburg, 32, of Chesterton, steered from the passenger seat, police said.

I need a Glenmorangie straight up! Catholic & Evangelical Leaders called foul on Durbin questioning Roberts Did you know the WH changed the rules on requiring tax info on nominees in 2001? Don't worry, neither did mostof the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Heretik, the ugly Brits will be supplanting Brad and George Clooney. Wonder how those spirit sales will be over there?
Don't forget to give a toast to the possibility of Motor City Madman Ted Nugent running for governor of Michigan in 2006 (props to That Colored Fella).

Ugly guys will give women a different reason to drink.

Thanks H. I got so many hits for my Jane Fonda post. They were mostly angry wingnuts who left hateful comments :P

Oh Pammy, you know there's nothing that'll stop the Brits from a drinkie-poo.

Hello from Oregon where the thermometer is spiking over 100. We temperate climate creatures wilt in such weather. We need something a little stronger than beer tonight, Ivory Joe. Long Island Iced Tea should do it.
It's a good thing that I was never into cocaine. Yikes.
And in local news, Oregon is still laboring for civil unions against the rightwing fringe. Even us blue states have to deal with the red menace.
Make that Iced Tea a double.

Does anyone have a link to that story about an Iraqi man giving the same exact statement on two separate occasions to describe two different suicide bomb attacks?

Agitprop:
I heard that story on Randi Rhodes this afternoon. Here is what Rhodes has on her message board about it.
Posted by: carla | July 27, 2005 at 07:52 PM
Hail, linkstress Jen.
Posted by: The Heretik | July 27, 2005 at 07:57 PM
Thanks carla! I heard that on Randi's show too. The first thing I thought of was propaganda, pentagon news releases and the ministry of truth...
