The sharks are asking where your chum Mannion is tonight, sister.

Give me another huge Pimm's Cup. Make it an IV. Wimbledon is making me a nervous wreck.
Posted by: Diane | June 30, 2005 at 08:50 PM
Very punny, Betty.
I'm not sure I know this Mannion fellow. Are you referring to Rod Bigstaff?
Posted by: Shakespeare's Sister | June 30, 2005 at 08:50 PM
Rod Bigstaff? Actually I have heard him refer to himself as Louie Lancelot.

Just dropping in to say hello before I get back to work. A D&G ginger beer sounds good.
Posted by: Idyllopus | June 30, 2005 at 08:57 PM
He's a man of many names, it seems.
I've also known him to pose as a gumshoe called Ram Johnson.

Juli, I love you. You can have all the Ginger you want. Just don't tell that Kos kid.

Working on entering data. Star Wars noises circulating in the room behind me. Drinking ginger beer. Still trying to wake up, never quite did today.

I wanted to drop in and give a quick hello. Might I try that ginger beer?
Posted by: Agitprop | June 30, 2005 at 09:10 PM

Czech out the beers, sister. I recommend a Lev.
Posted by: Franz K. | June 30, 2005 at 09:11 PM
Sister, I think Franz has a crush on you. Commandante, a ginger for you.
Posted by: Betty Blogger | June 30, 2005 at 09:15 PM
Betty, I don't know about a crush, but I'm certain he's trying to get me drunk.
Another Lev, please.
Posted by: Shakespeare's Sister | June 30, 2005 at 09:19 PM
Yes, let's leaven up the mood here. Czech out my selection of beers. Lev , Urquell, the original Budweieser before those Buschs bollixed things up. Yeah, yeah. Here you go, sister.
Posted by: Franz | June 30, 2005 at 09:22 PM
Vielen Dank, Franz. Du bist ein zehr großzügig Gastgeber.
Posted by: Shakespeare's Sister | June 30, 2005 at 09:30 PM
Habe ich je Ihnen erzählt, dass ich Ihr Buch im ursprünglichen Deutsch lese? Sehr schwierig, aber schön.
Posted by: Shakespeare's Sister | June 30, 2005 at 09:32 PM
Yah. Yah. Un huh. Or not.
Posted by: Franz K | June 30, 2005 at 09:34 PM
Ahem, I'd forgotten that in your determination to learn English, you had rid yourself of your German, Franz. Forgive me. I asked if I had ever mentioned to you that I had read your work in the original German. I'm sure I mentioned it. Very difficult, but beautiful.
Posted by: Shakespeare's Sister | June 30, 2005 at 09:35 PM
Zer gut, fraulein.
Posted by: Franz K | June 30, 2005 at 09:38 PM
My German teacher in hs told me I'd regret it if I didn't stick with it. Being unable to read Kafka in the original is something to regret.
