Good evening, Betty. I think I'll start with a Bloody Mary this evening.

Alright, sister. And how are you?
Posted by: Betty Blogger | June 29, 2005 at 09:40 PM
I'm fine, thank you, Betty. I'm a bit sleepy this evening, so I can't stay long, but I can't resist an invite from you. There's something exceedingly enjoyable about ending the day by having a nightcap with you.
And how about you? Everything good in your world?
Posted by: Shakespeare's Sister | June 29, 2005 at 09:41 PM
Ya, ya. Did you get the Heretik's e mail on tomorrow post?
Posted by: Betty Blogger | June 29, 2005 at 09:43 PM
I most certainly did, and I have replied. I'll be leading with the same, btw.
Also I have a bit about Hillary to discuss. She's odds-on favorite for '08, apparently.
Posted by: Shakespeare's Sister | June 29, 2005 at 09:45 PM
Can you tell the tale?
Posted by: The Heretik | June 29, 2005 at 09:46 PM
The tale of Hillary?
Posted by: Shakespeare's Sister | June 29, 2005 at 09:47 PM
When will you post?
Posted by: The Heretik | June 29, 2005 at 09:47 PM
Tomorrow. There's no tale as much as a curiosity I have. Hillary, perhaps more than anyone else, must be aware of what a divisive figure she is. She must also be aware, since she's got a functioning brain and all, how divided the country is alreay. I'm a bit disturbed, to be frank, by her insistence on running at this time. Perhaps she thinks it's her only chance, or her best chance, but I don't think we need her now. And I question whether we need anyone who puts their own interests above the country's. I don't know. Maybe there is no "right reason" to run for president, but I just feel a bit put off by the whole thing.

I love the Boxer, too. I think she could be a contenda.
Posted by: Shakespeare's Sister | June 29, 2005 at 10:02 PM
i would love barbara to be my pres or sheila jackson lee. hillary not so much. i hate the dlc. i just do.
Posted by: Jen | June 29, 2005 at 10:03 PM
My bad on the invites. I briefly inhabited the Heretik's cyber box with some other gremlins, so the invites are wraiths.

I'm not crazy about the DLC, either. Centrism is an especially tricky problem when the center keeps moving toward the opposing team's goal line.
It's too bad about the Durbin kafuffle. I was all set to single-handedly make him a household name and oblige him to run by '08.
Posted by: Shakespeare's Sister | June 29, 2005 at 10:05 PM
Ah, that's all right then, Paul. As long as we're not getting the cold shoulder. You're all the company I need, anyhow.
Posted by: Shakespeare's Sister | June 29, 2005 at 10:07 PM
I love Durbin. I about cried hearing him on the radio all sincere and choked up apologizing. The poor man had NO f**king SUPPORT from his supposed fellow dems and frigging Daley was poking him with a red hot anvil or something. Utter b.s. I am a nonviolent person, but if I ever run in to Karl Rove, I think I could choke him with my bare hands and smile doing it.

Daley's gone off the deep end. He jumped the shark when he had an airport torn up because his wife didn't like the noise. He keeps shitting on Durbin and he can wave bye-bye to reelection, too - which is something I never thought I'd say, since Daleys typically receive lifetime appointments to the mayorship of Chicago.

And speaking of Rove, he's not going away after President Stupid's two terms are up. He's reportedly already grooming Guiliani for the vice-presidency. Why the vice-presidency? Because the presidential nominee will be so extremist that he's looking to Rudy to moderate the ticket. Yowza.
