Not in a sexist way, but The Heretik would like to ask the likes of Lieberman why The Only Senator with a Sack actually has ovaries.  Only Barbara Boxer in the midst of the Rebellion?  To the Lady, lead on in the fight:

The Heretik wishes to inform The Minions that
Bad Tux shot straight through his  heart to hit the bullseye on torture, that Most Odious Practice.  Pity not the naive Heretik.  He cannot be wounded, he is already among the departed, reporting from his desk at the mouth of hell.

Bulleseye #003: Bob Herbert

The Heretik knows about torture.  You don't burn at the stake and come away without an opinion about That Most Horrible Practice he wished ended in The Terrible Terrible Long Ago.  By sad experience, The Heretik knows torture is bad for the victim, worse for the soul of the perpetrator, and worst by far for the society that allows it. 

A society's moral decay rarely can grow  in sunlight where all can see it.  Knowing this, the servants of such decay seek out dark places far from view.  We should all ask why.

Extraordinary rendition is the name that's been given to the policy of seizing individuals without even the semblance of due process and sending them off to be interrogated by regimes known to practice torture. In terms of bad behavior, it stands side by side with contract killings.

Our henchmen in places like Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Uzbekistan and Jordan are torturing terror suspects at the behest of a nation - the United States - that just went through a national election in which the issue of moral values was supposed to have been decisive. How in the world did we become a country in which gays' getting married is considered an abomination, but torture is O.K.?

Bullseye #002: Wolcott

Wolcott hits the mark on why the Guckert/Gannon mess matters. The Heretik well notes it's part of a sad pattern, a sad pattern with grave consequences The Heretik knows all to well.  When the Rulers presume to know better than The Ruled what they should know and how they should know it, The Ruled are screwed. 

You might say, "No big deal.  I don't have time to care." If you say that, you're screwed.  Everyone else is as well.

The Heretik knows a bit about information control.  He wasn't burned at the stake back in The Terrible Terrible Long Ago for agreeing with people.  Grave consequences indeed.
