BOWIE WAS RIGHT. I always liked that Bowie boy.

Hi Mom. got any milk and cookies?

Hi Heretik...I've got my freak on. Thanks for promoting the contest.

As always, your work is impeccable.

For you, Oreos and the milk of human kindness, Lance

It's the boobs that are bothering me, Heretik.

Harris could only hope for a rack like that.

Cranium, the boobs that worry me are in the White House.

Aw, mom, you forgot to put the creme de menthe in the milk again!

Sorry, boy. I was distracted by THIS

She could use something to discreetly cover up her assets.

Maybe an off-shore tax-shelter is in order?

Matt, I have got to say your post is one of the most godawful nightmares I have ever experienced while awake!

Well, that gave me my laugh for the day. They were all good (except, imo, the one that's getting the most votes). Though I didn't vote for it (I felt compelled to vote for another one), I really liked Katherine as a, shall we say, Negro.

Thanks, Lance (I think).

They are all good, and all in different ways. I plan on handing out awards to each one after the voting is done.

Here is an old link (in blog time), but it's still good. no posting and guest posting

Hi all. I'm a bereft woman tonight. A friend of mine passed away suddenly and I don't know what to do....

Amanda, that is sad news.

A good thought for your friend and comfort for you here, good friend.

Sorry to hear that, Amanda.

Death is potential to that Man
Who dies -- and to his friend --
Beyond that -- unconspicuous
To Anyone but God --

Of these Two -- God remembers
The longest -- for the friend --
Is integral -- and therefore
Itself dissolved -- of God --

Emily Dickinson

Bereavement in their death to feel
Whom We have never seen --
A Vital Kinsmanship import
Our Soul and theirs -- between --

For Stranger -- Strangers do not mourn --
There be Immortal friends
Whom Death see first -- 'tis news of this
That paralyze Ourselves --

Who, vital only to Our Thought --
Such Presence bear away
In dying -- 'tis as if Our Souls
Absconded -- suddenly --

Emily Dickinson

Hi everyone.

So sorry for you, Amanda.

Thanks for the opening nod, Joe. I knew you'd be a Bowie fan.

I saw my baby
She was turning blue
I knew that soon
Her young life was through
And so I got down on my knees
Down by her bed
And these are the words
To her I said

Everything will be alright tonight
Everything will be alright tonight
No one moves
No one talks
No one thinks
No one walks tonight
Tonight
Everyone will be alright tonight
Everyone will be alright tonight
No one moves
No one talks
No one thinks
No one walks tonight
Tonight

I am gonna love you till the end
I will love you till I reach the end
I will love you till I die
I will see you in the sky
Tonight

"Tonight"
David BOwie

Though nothing
Will keep us together
We could steal time
Just for one day
We can be Heroes
For ever and ever
What d'you say

Don't have any problem with the breasts on Heretik's "Katherine Harris". I'm just rushing through, pulled hither and thither with fixing things elsewher, but if I remember correctly the point of Heretik's was what of the idealized self. What is the vision of Katherine Harris that Harris wishes to all to see, including herself--and is it appropriate giving women (and individuals) a hard time of it simply to do with appearance, no matter politics. A legitimate question, a legitimate concern.

I'm sorry to read of Amanda's friend passing. We've had a number of friends die the past few years, some suddenly, some slowly. It is always rough.

For Amanda:

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart,
and you shall see that in truth
you are weeping for that which has been your delight.
~Kahlil Gibran
