No wonder Kelly Ripa has so much energy! It's the crack...
Glad you like those pics H. I made sure to reference Despair Inc. so I don't get sued.
Got any amber ale?

Aye, Amber ales. And Amber is not ailing as much as she was.

Wild weekend indeed. I wonder what news will be released this weekend. The administration always releases something right before the weekend hoping it gets buried or forgotten...
Posted by: Agitprop | July 22, 2005 at 06:09 PM
That's because there is a lot to be buried. And even more to be forgotten.

So the Rove/Plame outing has become the Rove/Libby/Bolton/Fleisher/Miller/possibly Cheney scandal? Maybe they are turning into a house of cards. Take Rove out, and they will all fall...

And Hughes. Don't forget Hughes. It's a corporation. Not the Hues Corporation but it does remind me of that song.
Rock the boat,
Don't tip the boat over . . .
That sad ship has taken on a lot of water. President Ostrich has his head . . .

What are you rebelling against?
Whaddya got?
In honor of The Wild One, I'll have a boilermaker. Better throw in an extra chaser, Joe--I think I hear a mob of patriots at my door...
Posted by: Diane | July 22, 2005 at 06:20 PM
Speaking of President Ostrich, I heard this guy interviewed on the radio today. He is a "free will astrologer". He did George W. Bush's chart in the air. Bush is a Cancer. They are prone to become lost in their own minds, trapped in a mental world that is completely disconnected from reality. It was rather interesting. Here's the guy's site: http://www.freewillastrology.com/

Thank you for not forgetting my greatest line, Diane. Boilermakers for boiling times. President Ostrich would give you a heads up about those patriots, but his head is um elsewhere

I'll have a Shirley Temple and 200 mg of Klonopin, please. It's been a rough news week.

Johnny Rebel or Johnny Rotten?
Posted by: Agitprop | July 22, 2005 at 06:43 PM
or Johnny Angel ...
Posted by: RJ Eskow | July 22, 2005 at 06:45 PM
I was just thinking that in my Ostrich Times piece, RJ, but rough water proves the skill of the pilot of the boat. Blah, blah, blah. Oy. Klonopin straight up.

She said I know what it's like to be dead. I know what it is to be sad. And she's making me feel like I've never been born.

I said "Who put all those things in your hair
Things that ake me feel that I'm mad
And you're making me feel like I've never been born."
She said "you don't understand what I said"
I said "No, no, no, you're wrong"
When I was a boy everything was right
Everything was right
I said "Even though you know what you know
I know that I'm ready to leave
'Cause you're making me feel like I've never been born."

I'm listening to the Revolver album right now. I read that Lennon wrote the song about Peter Fonda and some girl on LSD in 1966.
Posted by: Agitprop | July 22, 2005 at 06:59 PM
I heard that too. The Pic on the album cover should have been a clue to what was going on there.
My mother met Leo McKernan, Victor Spinetti, and I think one of the Beatles in 1965 in the Bahamas. She wasn't sure which one, but he was quiest so it was probably George. She came back saying they were doing this movie entitled "Eight Arms to Hold You" which became "Help." Oy.

Yes that is quite a cover. George was a good soul.
Posted by: Agitprop | July 22, 2005 at 07:05 PM
I like this song from George's last album released just after he died:
Brainwashed
Brainwashed by the Nikkei
Brainwashed by Dow Jones
Brainwashed by the FTSE
Nasdaq and secure loans
Brainwashed us from Brussels
Brainwashing us in Bonn
Brainwashing us in Washington
Westminster in London
God God God
You are the wisdom that we seek
God God God
The lover that we miss
God God God
Your nature is eternity
God God God
You are Existence, Knowledge, Bliss

The Concert for the Bangladesh was the Live Aid of its time. Quite the lineup.

George also wrote the line "The Pope owns 51% of General Motors" and put it in his song "Awaiting on You All," which became a huge hit anyway.
Different times. That would never happen with Clear Channel.
Posted by: RJ Eskow | July 22, 2005 at 07:14 PM
Indeed RJ. I think it was John Lennon who wrote "The pope smokes dope everyday".

Chant in the name of the Lord and you'll be free. The lord is awaiting on you all if you'll just see . ..

George got sued for My Sweet Lord sounding a little too much like She's So Fine.
