Laura Bush may tell jokes about horse cocks, but we know who the real horse's ass is and we know what a dick is. In all the world laughter is a most honest sound. When we cry in outrage, may we always find a reason to laugh as well. We have more than enough reasons to cry today.
For me it has been a savage week. Lies drop on my head with a clunk. England re-elects Bush's poodle Blair. England of Abu Ghraib pleads guilty, than the judge pleas her innocent. Strange and savage times. Here we find ourselves in the middle of The War on Everything TM. Tragedy meets farce. We may yet drown in a cynical sea. Do not slip gently into those dark waters, friends. Lighten yourself with laughter and float somehow above in this atmosphere of madness. Look down and find a way to make a difference. Don't let the dickheads get you down.

I get a chuckle every time I refer to Bush as a "horse fluffer".
And I can always find something on Jesus' General that makes me laugh out loud.

This reminds me of a story, the name of which I forget...
Some dude is on trial, and this prosecutor asks him if he would be willing to give the devil a fair hearing. the defendant says yes. Further in the story, the outraged proseutor says he would strike down the law just to get at the devil.
And the defendant says, "And with the law down and the devil at your throat, where would you tun to? This is why I'd give the devil a fair hearing -- not for his safety, but for mine"...
